Middle School Clubs

Below are examples of L.E.A.D. Socials, Day Trips, and Leadership and Volunteerism Clubs that may be offered. Clubs are subject to change from year to year.

  • Comics and Gaming Club

    Students read, discuss, draw, and share comics, manga, and anime. They share information on upcoming conventions and associated cosplay as well as discuss favorite authors, artists, and characters.

  • Creative Writing Club

    Students bring their works of poetry, short stories, narratives, and other pieces of creative writing to share with other members. Students learn to express themselves through the written word.

  • Fiber Arts Club

    Students learn knitting, crocheting, and embroidery basics as well as how to read simple patterns to create basic projects.

  • Fitness Club

    Students learn how to safely use the Fitness Center and create workout regimens specific to their needs and goals.

  • Horseback Riding Club

    Students are driven to and from Thorncroft Equestrian Center in Malvern. Each student learns how to prepare their horse for the lesson. The students are divided into two groups: one for beginning riders and one for advanced riders.

  • Running Club

    Running Club provides a safe and enjoyable environment for students to experience a supervised exercise and athletic session that focuses on proper running techniques and strategies for endurance. Runners complete an outdoor 3.1 mile course.

  • Buddy Program

    The Buddy Program is a community-building program in which older students are paired with students in FOUNDATIONS and Lower School. Older students engage in various activities with their buddies throughout the year, including Buddy Bowling, Buddy Valentines, and Buddy Picnic.

  • Middle School Student Council

    Student Council representatives from each of the three grades are elected by their classmates. Students meet once every six days with the group's faculty advisor to discuss any issues their classmates have brought to them or any ideas they have for the Middle School.

Woodlynde School is a private, co-ed college prep day school located in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that serves intelligent, talented students with learning differences in grades K - 12. Woodlynde provides a comprehensive, evidence-based Kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school program in a challenging yet nurturing environment for students with average to above average cognitive abilities (IQ) who have language- or math-based learning differences (such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia or Dyscalculia), Executive Function Challenges, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or Auditory Processing Disorder. Even for those students without a diagnosed learning disability (LD), Woodlynde offers expert and caring teachers in small classroom settings that support academic success. Woodlynde School also offers a post-graduate (PG) program in partnership with Rosemont College as well as a regional Summer Camp for students who learn differently.
