POWER Library is offered as a service of Pennsylvania's public libraries, school libraries and the State Library.
POWER Library allows you to access thousands of full text periodical articles, newspapers, a major encyclopedia, plus photographs, pictures, charts, maps, reference materials for young people and more. You will find materials of interest in most subject areas for all age groups from young children to adults.
POWER Library databases help both public and school libraries carry out their mission to provide tools for information literacy. "Information literacy -- the ability to find and use information -- is the keystone of lifelong learning. Creating a foundation for lifelong learning is at the heart of the school library media program." Information Power: Building Partnerships for learning, American Library Association, Chicago, 1998.
Students have access to these databases directly from any computer at Woodlynde because we are a subscribing library. However, school libraries are not able to provide home access. It is only available through your public library system. You may access these electronic resources from home with a current library card. For details, visit your respective library system based on where you live. We have linked to these major library county systems for your convenience.
