In 2001 the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania established the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program to encourage private businesses to make contributions directly to eligible schools in exchange for substantial tax credits. Businesses may be eligible to receive a tax credit of up to 90% of the donation. For more information, or to apply, visit www.inventpa.com.
Through Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, your company can earn a substantial tax credit. Millions of dollars are available on a "first-come, first-served" basis for contributions to scholarship organizations like Woodlynde School. Initial applications for these funds will be accepted beginning June 30 and renewal applications (those who have previously agreed to a two-year commitment) will be accepted starting May 15. It is important to discuss the tax implications and timing of submissions with your financial consultant.
Your company's contribution to the Woodlynde General Scholarship Fund will create a 75% tax credit, to a maximum of $200,000 annually. As an additional incentive, a company that agrees to make the same contribution to the Scholarship Fund for two consecutive tax years could receive a tax credit equal to 90% of its contribution, again up to a maximum of $200,000 annually.
Your support through the EITC program will help Woodlynde School make its educational experience available to the most capable students regardless of their financial circumstances. Simply apply to the Pennsylvania Department of Commerce and Economic Development (DCED) for the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program (EITC). Applications are available on-line at www.newpa.com. You may also call the DCED office at 717-787-7120 or contact Diane Tuppeny-Hess, Director of Advancement, at 610-293-6750.
