FOUNDATIONS offers our youngest students in grades K-2 the benefit of a small, nurturing environment designed for those critical first years of a child's education. Highlights of FOUNDATIONS include:

  • A small, nurturing class size of no more than 10 students per class

  • A dedicated staff of master teachers with special education, reading specialist, and/or early childhood education certification per classroom

  • Research-based math instruction including manipulatives (e.g. Digiblocks)

  • A full age-appropriate science and social studies curriculum.

  • Art and music programs formulated specifically for early learners

  • Social and emotional learning embedded into the curriculum and division culture through the Responsive Classroom approach to teaching

  • Flexible grouping between grade levels for math and reading

  • After-School CARES homework and social program for grades K-6
Research-based literacy programs include:
  • A comprehensive approach to literacy including Wilson Fundations®, Wilson Reading System®, guided reading, comprehension strategies, reading workshop, and other reading activities

Woodlynde School is a private, co-ed college prep day school located in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that serves intelligent, talented students with learning differences in Grades K - 12. Woodlynde provides a comprehensive, evidence-based Kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school program in a challenging yet nurturing environment for students with average to above average cognitive abilities (IQ) who have language-or math-based learning differences (such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia or Dyscalculia), Executive Function Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or Auditory Processing Disorder. Even for those students without a diagnosed learning disability (LD), Woodlynde offers expert and caring teachers in small classroom settings that support academic success. Woodlynde School also offers a post-graduate (PG) program in partnership with Rosemont College as well as a regional Summer Camp for students who learn differently.
