• Make sure you or your child gets a full night’s sleep and is well rested before starting the assessment.
• Have a moderate meal beforehand to ensure energy and focus during the assessment.
• Each testing session begins with time dedicated to building rapport between the examiner and the examinee. The start of the assessment also includes reviewing referral concerns, answering questions, and completing a brief intake questionnaire.
• You’re welcome to bring snacks and drinks. Keep in mind that many activities are hands-on, so please choose snacks that are easy to manage.
• Breaks will typically be offered on an as-needed basis. 

• Depending on the examinee’s needs, assessments may be spread across multiple days. Generally, one day of testing lasts up to three hours, as fatigue can set in despite breaks.
• Cognitive assessments usually take between one and three hours, depending on the individual’s needs.
• Academic achievement testing typically requires one to two hours, depending on the examinee.
• The duration of other assessments—such as play-based evaluations, clinical interviews, or parent interviews—can vary.
• After reviewing the referral concerns and individual needs, Woodlynde will provide an estimated timeframe for the full assessment.

• After the assessment, Woodlynde typically takes one to three weeks to prepare the report, which can be shared with the examinee or parent in either electronic or paper format.
• Feedback sessions, during which your  tester reviews the assessment results and answers any questions, can be held in the office or over the phone.

Assessment fees vary based on the type and depth of testing. Full assessments typically start at $1,500, with costs reflecting testing time, observations, and report preparation. A one-third deposit is due at the start of the first session. 

Reports can be shared with your healthcare provider, though Woodlynde does not submit insurance claims. Many providers offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network psychological services, but coverage varies. Payment plans are generally available, and additional options may be offered for current Woodlynde families.
