Woodlynde offers a dynamic and inclusive arts environment where students can explore their musical interests through a wide array of programs.
Whether a student is learning the basics of rhythm and melody in our Lower Division, or producing, recording, and mixing original beats in our Upper Division, there is something for everyone.
Music Opportunities at Woodlynde
Onstage Performance
Students who enroll in this class participate in the annual musical, as well additional performance opportunities throughout the year. Students will learn choreography and acting skills as well as develop their vocal technique, learn basic music literacy skills, and gain experience singing in two-and three-part harmony.
Instrumental Music
Instrumental Class is designed as an introductory course that provides students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals in guitar, ukulele, electric bass, piano, percussion, and Logic Pro X. In addition to basic instrumental technique, students will learn standard music notation, tablature, chord diagrams, and the primary elements of music making.
Rock Ensemble
Rock Ensemble is a performance course that provides an opportunity for students to perform a variety of popular music styles that developed in the United States from 1950 to the present. Styles will include, but are not limited to, rhythm & blues, rockabilly, doo-wop, folk-rock, punk, hip-hop, heavy metal, and alternative. The ensemble consists of a rhythm section (keyboards, guitar, bass, drums, and percussion), vocalists, and featured instrumentalists.
