When a student comes to Woodlynde, we meet them where they are to get them where they need to be. Our individualized approach goes beyond the academics to build confidence and social-emotional wellness in kids who learn differently.
Our Services
Frequently children and adolescents receive evaluations in order to make determinations based on:
- Giftedness
- Specific Learning Disabilities in Oral Language, Reading, Mathematics, and Writing
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD)
- Anxiety, Depression, and other Affective Disorders
- Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders
- Intellectual Disability
- Other Disabilities or Concerns

Woodlynde’s Assessment Center provides consultative and advocacy services for meeting individual student needs. Advocacy support is available for students receiving Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Section 504 Service Plans, Learning Plans, and for students seeking additional support and accommodations.

Dr. Jay Tarnoff
Woodlynde School Psychologist
The founder of Polaris Psychological, LLC, Dr. Jay Tarnoff is a Pennsylvania licensed psychologist specializing in child, adolescent, and adult psychoeducational, psychological, and clinical neuropsychological evaluations.
Dr. Tarnoff is a diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in the American Academy of School Psychology, a Pennsylvania Licensed Psychologist (#PS017545), a Pennsylvania Certified School Psychologist, and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).
