Upper School

In our Upper School Division for grades 9-12, our overall goal is to prepare students for success in college both academically and socially. Students master the core curriculum and truly evolve into independent learners and self-advocates. By the time they graduate, Woodlynde students have learned to:

In recent years, 100% of our seniors have been accepted to college and, on average, 95% matriculate the following fall.

  • Woodlynde students have the opportunity to learn the "how" as well as the "what" of a college-prep curriculum.

     
  • Faculty utilize the more intimate classroom atmosphere to explain the importance and application of the material presented and to directly teach effective study habits and study strategies for mastering the material in that content area.

     
  • Student progress is evaluated with authentic "hands-on" assessments as well as traditional pencil-and-paper tests.

     
  • Each grade 9 class is assigned a learning specialist who stays with them through graduation.

Woodlynde School is a private, co-ed college prep day school located in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that serves intelligent, talented students with learning differences in grades K - 12. Woodlynde provides a comprehensive, evidence-based Kindergartenelementarymiddle and high school program in a challenging yet nurturing environment for students with average to above average cognitive abilities (IQ) who have language- or math-based learning differences (such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia or Dyscalculia), Executive Function Challenges, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or Auditory Processing Disorder. Even for those students without a diagnosed learning disability (LD), Woodlynde offers expert and caring teachers in small classroom settings that support academic success. Woodlynde School also offers a post-graduate (PG) program in partnership with Rosemont College as well as a regional Summer Camp for students who learn differently.
