There is no more important investment than your child's education, and for a child who learns differently, that investment becomes even more critical as it affects their success in college, career, and life.
Woodlynde School tuition is slightly higher than the area's traditional independent schools, but lower than most area support schools. This represents Woodlynde School's unique balance of academic rigor typical of a traditional private school combined with the academic, social, and emotional support provided by the region's dedicated "helping" schools that tend to serve students of greater need than those Woodlynde School accepts.
Even then, Woodlynde School does not charge the full cost of a Woodlynde School education and covers the gap between tuition and program costs through generous philanthropic support.
Because a Woodlynde School education is so critical to the successful development of a child who learns differently, Woodlynde School offers generous need-based tuition assistance (over $1.5 million annually).

Our Tuition Assistance Philosophy
At Woodlynde School, there is a commitment to help any qualified student receive a Woodlynde School education. Woodlynde School recognizes that tuition costs represent a significant investment in each student's future, so need-based Tuition Assistance is made available to enrolled families who apply and meet the school's criteria. Students thus are able to take advantage of a Woodlynde School education, and the student body is enriched by the socio-economic diversity that is inherently valued in the school's mission.

How Tuition Assistance Decisions are Made
Tuition assistance decisions are made by the Tuition Assistance Committee, which is separate from the Admissions Committee. An application for tuition assistance in no way affects an applicant’s opportunity to be admitted to the school. All tuition assistance decisions are made based on financial need without regard to a student’s race, color, religion, ethnicity, or national origin. Woodlynde School relies upon the truthfulness of the information provided in each application, and families who apply acknowledge their continuing obligation to notify the school if financial circumstances improve.*Woodlynde School funds its annual tuition assistance awards in part through grants and scholarships provided by outside foundations and will occasionally ask tuition assistance applicants/recipients to submit information to facilitate funding from outside sources. -
The Family's Financial Commitment
Woodlynde School's tuition assistance grants are intended to support those enrolled families that have demonstrated need and who have already accessed other outside sources of income and addressed expense savings. Those income sources include grandparents, other family members, employment of all able-bodied parents, other potential scholarship programs, or a settlement from a school district. Non-educational lifestyle expenses that can also be addressed prior to applying for tuition assistance include ownership of second homes, luxury automobiles, or memberships in private dues-paying clubs. These are the kinds of considerations families should make before applying for tuition assistance. While Woodlynde School is committed to supporting demonstrated need to the extent possible, we also believe that families must bear some of the sacrificial burden in this partnership.
How to Apply for Tuition Assistance
Families may apply for tuition assistance at the time of application to the school. The tuition assistance review process for current Woodlynde School families begins in November. New families are encouraged to apply for tuition assistance in January.

1. Fill out the Tuition Assistance Letter of Intent
Fill out the Tuition Assistance Letter of Intent and return it to the Woodlynde School Admissions Office as soon as possible. This allows the Office to track all requests by the date received in preparation for Tuition Assistance allocation. -
2. Complete the Clarity Application
To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.Check out the quick reference guide to help you get started, and the family application guide for more details!If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available as well as email support at support@claritytuition.com in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish. -
3. Tuition Assistance Eligibility Notification
If you are eligible and the Tuition Assistance Committee grants Tuition Assistance, your grant will be included in the re-enrollment contract.

The Children's Scholarship Fund of Philadelphia (CSFP)
For families living in Philadelphia, parents may apply online to CSFP by November 15 for inclusion in the Priority Lottery (recommended). If not selected during the Priority Lottery period, applicants will automatically be rolled over for the March 1 Lottery. Starting in the 2020-2021 school year, the maximum award for private school students will be $3,000 per year, renewable for four years through grade 8. Both the school and family must sign documents each year by stated deadlines to ensure that funds are received. This year, 2,500 new scholarships have been added for children entering grades K - 8.

The Ellis Foundation
The Charles E. Ellis Grant and Scholarship Fund for Girls is available to students in grades 9-12 who reside in Philadelphia full-time.Additionally, students must meet the following criteria:- Live in a household where one or both parents are absent or one parent is disabled;
- Have grades of C or better in major subjects;
- Have a gross family income that does not exceed the amounts set by the foundation.
Families are responsible for completing all paperwork and meeting established deadlines. The maximum award amount for private school students is currently $7,000. The award is renewable each year as long as the family continues to qualify financially and all paperwork is complete by the stated deadlines. Woodlynde School is a private, co-ed college prep day school located in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that serves intelligent, talented students with learning differences in grades K - 12. Woodlynde provides a comprehensive, evidence-based Kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school program in a challenging yet nurturing environment for students with average to above average cognitive abilities (IQ) who have language- or math-based learning differences (such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia or Dyscalculia), Executive Function Challenges, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or Auditory Processing Disorder. Even for those students without a diagnosed learning disability (LD), Woodlynde offers expert and caring teachers in small classroom settings that support academic success. Woodlynde School also offers a post-graduate (PG) program in partnership with Rosemont College as well as a regional Summer Camp for students who learn differently.
