Ireland Trip
18 Students & Teachers Tour “Gorgeous” Emerald Isle

Ireland is a land filled with green, shamrocks and redheads. Over Presidents’ Day weekend, 18 Woodlynde students and teachers enjoyed the pleasure of visiting this wonderful country for six days.
English teacher Mr. Frawley, who chaperoned the February excursion, said, “We had a great group of students who asked fun questions and powered through, even when they were tired. It was great.”
The flight there was six and a half hours with no layover. The group spent three nights inDublin and two nights in Galway.
“The Aran Islands were so gorgeous and I had so much fun that day,” freshman Stella Thompson said. “We also went up to some cliffs.”
The tour guide seemed to have been a fan favorite.
“The tour guide was amazing,” Stellasaid. “We had this nice bloke named Martin, who was actually Scottish, and he was incredibly nice, funny and knowledgeable on the country.”
Sophomore Victor Vernick enjoyed the Cliffs of Moher, a majestic array of sea cliffs located in County Clare, Ireland. “It was amazing at its highest peak,” he said.
When asked what would have made the trip even better, junior Wayne Ireland said, “I would have liked to spend more time in the countryside than the city.”
Asked why he chose Ireland. Mr. Frawley said, “I’m an Irish citizen, and I wanted to share some of my family heritage and history with the Woodlynde community.”
Even though the Ireland trip only took place a couple months ago, Mr. Frawley is already planning a trip to Greece next year, from March 19th to March 25th.
“It’s going to be great! We’ll stay in Athens the whole time, and we’ll take day trips to many famous sites. Any fans of Percy Jackson and Greek mythology will love it,” Mr. Frawley said.
