Costa Rica Trip
Students Experience Crocodiles, Ziplining & Rafting

Over spring break, 15 Upper School students had the privilege of visiting Costa Rica for seven days, where they helped out at an elementary school, went white water-rafting, enjoyed ziplining, went on a crocodile tour, participated in a cooking class, and toured several beautiful parks.
According to Spanish teacher Mrs. Clark, who chaperoned the trip,the group stayed in areas surrounding San Jose and Coastal Puntarenas.
“The group visited a local school and a local sports complex where they met with students, asked them questions, and then played a short game of soccer. The group also was able to go whitewater rafting, participate in a cooking class, tour a dairy farm and a coffee plantation, and participate in a folklore evening on their last night,” said Mrs. Clark.
After they traveled to San Jose, they enjoyed Coastal Puntarenas.
“The group went on a tour of the Carara National Park and experienced an awesome zipline tour after viewing some of the beautiful butterflies that live in Costa Rica. We were able to visit a second national park called Manuel Antonio, where the students were able to enjoy a morning on the beach,” Mrs. Clark said.
“After Manuel Antonio, the students went on a very exciting crocodile tour where they were able to see multiple crocs in their natural habitat.”
Senior Graham Dileo enjoyed multiple aspects of the trip.
“The trip was spectacular, just amazing. The most beautiful thing I saw was the beach we saw on the national park trip,” Graham said.
“My favorite activity was zip-lining and the food was very good. It wasn’t the typical American food. The best food I ate was a great quesadilla I had.”
