Have you ever wanted to be TikTok famous?

Well, new junior
Hayley Needelman has already accomplished this exciting goal.

Last August, she was sitting in her basement with her older brother
Wes and their friend Sergei and thought of an original idea that led her to fame. The video she made blew up and gave her a shocking 1.3 million likes and 52,300 followers, as of February.

In the video, Hayley pretends to be friends with a VCSO girl. A VCSO girl is a person who tends to wear oversized T-shirts, sweatshirts, short shorts, and scrunchies in her hair, according to Urban Dictionary. They commonly have a Hydro Flask and frequently say “Sksksksks”.

In the video, Hayley’s “VSCO friend” turns Hayley into more and more of a VSCO girl. As the video goes on, Hayley’s style and personality change. She starts to wear scrunchies in her hair, and changes her outfits and the way she acts.

When Hayley noticed her video was blowing up, she was quite shocked. She immediately started to jokingly brag about her fame to Wes and Sergei, both recent Woodlynde graduates. As a joke, Hayley even started saying to Wes, “Don’t talk to me, I’m famous.”

Hayley continues to post videos, but not as much as she used to because she is busy with schoolwork. She says the thing she likes most about becoming TikTok famous are the nice compliments she received from her fans. Many of her followers have
added her on Snapchat or direct
messaged her on Instagram, saying things to her like, “Omg, I didn’t think you’d answer this. I love your TikTok.”

She even had someone say to her, “I can safely say you single-handedly debunk the ‘females aren’t funny’ stereotype."

Tenth grade Learning Specialist Mrs. Furman is impressed by the amount of fame Hayley has received from this video. "I think it's great she can do something she enjoys and can get recognition for her creativity and humor," Mrs. Furman said.
