Although the coronavirus has put all of our lives on pause, it has not put a stop to Jack’s Lawn Care. Compared to last year, sophomore Jack Richardson’s landscaping company has received four new clients and he expects this number to grow as the year goes on.

Jack currently has 10 clients. He works 2-3 days a week for his own company, for a total of 15 hours a week. He works for another company as well, called Roland Sons Landscaping. For this company, Jack works from 2:30 - 7 at night, and on the weekends he works from 8 in the morning until 6 at night.

Along with mowing lawns, Jack also installs mulch, and in the future hopes to get into scrub trimmings.

Compared to last year, a big change to Jack’s company is the equipment he owns. In the past year, he has purchased a push lawn mower, a new trailer, a backpack leaf blower, and a second weed wacker.

Jack really enjoys being able to run his own business, especially since everyone is stuck at home due to this pandemic. Jack even said that the pandemic has opened up more work time, and he’s been able to accomplish a lot more.

Although Jack doesn’t wear a mask, he is still practicing social distancing by keeping away from other people he sees.

As of right now, Jack wants to run his own landscaping business as a job when he gets older.

“I enjoy making things look nice,” he said. “It’s relaxing and it helps me relieve stress.”
