Senior Darrell Moten and I have been working on a news show that we started when we were in 9th grade. We decided to start doing it again since we had so much free time on our hands during the quarantine.

We make the whole thing online. Darrell and I write and record the episodes and Darrell edits it.

Darrell said, “Making the episode was fun, but it obviously came with some complications along the way. Fact-checking sources, telling a joke that was funny enough to go along with the story we are reporting, and editing the entire 16-minute episode in one sitting, at night, are some of the problems we faced.”

The show didn’t take long to make. We started writing the script on Tuesday, finished it on Wednesday, recorded on Thursday and Friday, and Darrell edited in time for it to come out on Friday night.

“It was quite amazing how we pulled off an entire news show in 4 days without anything too horrible happening,” Darrell said about our recording process.

We post the videos on YouTube. The show is called
News Tomorrow Night Starring Kyndale Mitchell.

We report current events and basically make fun of them. It’s really satisfying watching the video come together and seeing all of our hard work go into something people can watch.
