Not only did the Varsity Volleyball team play hard at their sport, they also fundraised $750 for breast cancer research throughout the month of October.

When asked why the team decided to raise money to fight breast cancer, Coach Robison replied, “October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I have been a part of and seen fundraisers done, and other schools in our league do fundraisers, and it is a great cause and the girls were very passionate.”

Captain Julia Plousis enjoyed raising money for breast cancer research. “It made me so happy to raise money for an important cause in today's society.”

Throughout most of the season, the girls held a bake sale and candy sale, sold breast cancer headbands, and ran a yoga session after school. In addition, the team held a “Keep and Cut Campaign” which was a contest to determine whether Coach Robison should keep or cut his man bun. Students and teachers put their pocket change into two different buckets. One was for keeping the man bun and the other was for cutting it off, and whichever had the most money would win.

Keeping the man bun won out.
