According to Mrs. Tallman, her wedding was “awesome.”
“It was perfect,” the 12th grade Learning Specialist said. “Everything about it was perfect.”
Unfortunately, however, she couldn’t say the same about her honeymoon. Mrs. Tallman and her husband, Mr. Jimmy Smith, couldn’t go on their honeymoon because Hurricane Matthew swept its way into the Bahamas when their honeymoon was scheduled over Thanksgiving.
“I was disappointed,” Mrs. Tallman said. “but now I get two honeymoons. I had a longer Thanksgiving [when her original honeymoon was scheduled], and I’m still going to the Bahamas over spring break.”
For their wedding on Nov. 19, Mrs. Tallman said the whole day was amazing. Mr. Smith cried like a baby when he was saying his vows, Mrs. Tallman said. Mrs. Tallman, on the other hand, felt happy, but didn’t cry.
Thirteen Woodlynde teachers attended the event. During the reception, Director of College Guidance Mr. Hoffman got up on stage and started to sing “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker.
The reception was held at a fancy venue, The Phoenixville Foundry, in Phoenixville. The exterior of the building looked like an old factory, but on the inside it was better than Mrs. Tallman expected, as it was modern looking and clean. Chandeliers were hanging down at least 10 feet and the venue was gorgeous.
Salmon, filet mignon and vegetables were served for dinner that night. “Everyone said the food was good, but I didn’t eat any of it,” said Mrs. Tallman , who did not change her last name after getting married.
After dinner, “[They] had a cheesesteak bar,” Mrs. Tallman said, “but [I] didn't have one, because they ran out of cheesesteaks. I was disappointed because I was hungry.”
When asked if there was one thing she could have changed about her wedding, Mrs. Tallman said, “I wish my whole day slowed down because it went way too fast.”
History teacher Mr. Smith said he had a great time at the wedding. “The wedding was great. It was a lot of fun getting to spend time with friends.”
