Girl's varsity team finally won a game
Girls Varsity Beat Del Val by 3 Points

Like the Boys Varsity Basketball team, the Girls Varsity squad also won their first game in two years.
“It was exciting. I was really overwhelmed,” senior captain Julia Plousis said of the team’s recent three-point victory over Delaware Valley Friends. “I was nervous when they were down by two points that they would come back.”
Head Coach Ms. Williams said that the first win “was awesome.” “It’s my first year coaching varsity and [first] win as varsity coach. It was nice to see the girls’ faces. It gave them a boost of confidence.”
Coach Williams said the season has had many positives so far. “The number one highlight has been the girls’ defense. They play great defense every game. Another highlight is that they are not afraid to shoot the ball.”
She also pointed out that the chemistry of the team is great, as, “if one member is down, they cheer each other up.”
Coach Williams also mentioned that junior Tori Bruckner and senior Tajh Abodunde are the leaders on defense.
Julia said that “our confidence is building up” and she hopes to “win one more game” this season.
This definitely looks like a possibility. Helping matters is the fact that the team has 14 players, which is far more than they have had in previous years.
Coach Williams is also looking for a second victory, saying: “I hope we are able to come away with another win. I hope the girls are having fun and take something away from the season.”
