Letter from Board Chair Maryann O'Conor

Dr. Fulco has assured me that he will finish out the academic year with the same focus and commitment he has brought to the school throughout his tenure. I thank Dr. Fulco for his service and contributions to Woodlynde School over the past nine years and wish him great success in his new position.

During Dr. Fulco’s tenure, Woodlynde has secured its position as a premier independent school for students with learning differences. Over the past nine years, we have broadened our academic offerings, added social-emotional learning to our curriculum, and established The Literacy Institute at Woodlynde School. We have strengthened our faculty and staff by recruiting and retaining faculty who are certified in educating students with learning differences, and we have empowered our students to develop academically, socially, and personally by using innovative and individualized instruction. I am particularly proud that over the last nine years, Woodlynde alumni have added to the over 150 colleges and universities from which Woodlynde students have graduated. Recent Woodlynde alumni have received undergraduate and graduate degrees from such notable institutions as The University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, Bucknell University, Franklin & Marshall College, Villanova University, Penn State University, and many, many more. We are truly proud of where we have been and where we are going.

As provided in our by-laws, the Board of Trustees will be responsible for the selection of a new leader for our school. The Board has already begun to define the process for identifying, interviewing, and recruiting the best candidates to continue Woodlynde’s mission in the years ahead and to achieve the ambitious goals we have set for our school. Our process will be professional, transparent, and timely. The Board is committed to finding the very best person to lead our school, and we will keep the Woodlynde community apprised of our progress as we move toward that goal. I thank you for your continued support of Woodlynde and for all that you do for our students and our school.
