Woodlynde Travelers Experience New Orleans

Eleven Woodlynde students paraded down to New Orleans to experience French culture and celebrate the Mardi Gras season.
Fueled by beignet, jambalaya, gumbo, and po'boys, they toured the French Quarter, a bayou swamp, a colonial plantation, and a Voodoo museum. They boarded the Creole Queen for a riverboat cruise with a live jazz band. A local guide brought them to the parade of the Thoth Krewe, where students caught beads, footballs, cups, and other goodies from the floats. At the aquarium and the zoo, students learned about Louisiana history, flora, and fauna. Many of them even held a live gator! One night, they were treated to a ghost tour full of New Orleans lore. The delicious food, vibrant music, and immersive experiences made this a trip to remember.  A special thanks to Mrs. Kruk and Mr. Frawley for chaperoning this trip!
