Woodlynde Faculty Featured at the Biennial PAIS Conference in Pittsburgh


Two of Woodlynde's middle school teachers presented at the Biennial PAIS Conference in Pittsburgh!

Marybeth Spencer, Woodlynde’s seventh and eighth grade history teacher, spoke on Using Diverse Source Material to Enrich the History Classroom, sharing how she improves the classroom experience with hands-on techniques and creative activities for mixed learning-needs classrooms. In Aligning Strategies from Reading to History, Spencer was joined by Carolyn Kruk, Woodlynde’s seventh and eighth grade reading teacher, to present on how through co-planning they align instructional strategies in both reading and history classes. They also shared specific models for teaching nonfiction text that can be used in both reading and history classes. Click here to view the presentation.
 
PAIS is the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools, a non-profit membership organization serving more than 100 independent schools in Pennsylvania and Delaware.  PAIS holds a biennial conference for educators and professionals across these two states.

Woodlynde School is a private, co-ed college prep day school located in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that serves intelligent, talented students with learning differences in Grades K - 12.
