November 2018 Update from the Head of School Search Committee

In October, I shared with the Woodlynde community that the Search Committee would continue to work with our Carney, Sandoe & Associates (CS&A) consultants to identify new candidates with a strong combination of skills that, if selected, would enable them as Head of School to both lead and advance Woodlynde during what will be an exciting period of growth and evolution in the coming years.

I am pleased to share with you that in working with our CS&A consultants, the Search Committee has identified a candidate that we believe is highly qualified and enthusiastic.  Rather than “batch” candidates as we did before, as we identify candidates that we believe are particularly strong, we will invite him or her for a campus visit to engage with the broad Woodlynde community.

This finalist will visit Woodlynde’s campus December 10 and 11 in order to engage with Woodlynde parents (current and parents of alumni), faculty, administrators, students, and professionals as well.  Please mark these dates on your calendars. This campus visit period will give all of us the opportunity to learn more about the finalist, their past experiences, their particular passion and affection for Woodlynde and its mission, and importantly, their vision of how to advance Woodlynde into the future.

As stated from the beginning of this search, transparency and inclusion are vital to the process, and I encourage you to take advantage of the forums offered over these two days to get to know the candidate and to provide feedback.  Your support and thoughtful insights are important.

The Search Committee looks forward to having you meet this educational leader and to Woodlynde’s exciting next chapter.
