Upcoming Travel Opportunities

Best of Ireland: February 13-19, 2019

From the gorgeous landscapes to the ancient castles to the loquacious locals, Ireland has plenty to offer as a cultural experience. Next February 13-19, Mrs. Kruk and Mr. Frawley will lead a tour of Dublin and Galway for Grade 9-12 students. Excursions will include the Aran Islands, Blarney Castle, Gaelic games, and Irish dance. The deadline to register is June 21. Please contact Mrs. Kruk (kruk@woodlynde.org) or Mr. Frawley (frawley@woodlynde.org) for registration information or if you have any questions.
Through Woodlynde's L.E.A.D. Student Life Program, we offer a variety of day and overnight trips to our students with the opportunity to travel locally, nationally, and internationally. By giving our students the opportunity to travel, we are helping to widen their view of our world. Being immersed in these cultures, our students are gaining knowledge, stepping outside of their comfort zones, and growing as individuals. We believe these trips will help prepare our students for college, career, and life.

Over the last year, Woodlynde Upper School students had a few opportunites to immerse themsleves in other cultures as some of our Spanish students traveled to Costa Rica and Peru, and some of our French students traveled to France.
While in Costa Rica, our students experienced the many things that the culture has to offer, including visiting coffee and chocolate plantations, boating through the canals of Tortuguero, kayaking on Lake Arenal, walking across hanging bridges in the jungle, and zip lining through the cloud forest in Monteverde.

In France, the students traveled through Paris, the Loire Valley, St. Malo, and Normandy, and activities included visiting Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, Mont St. Michel, the D-day beaches of Normandy, and Versailles.

During the trip to Peru, our students were given the opportunity to tour Machu Picchu, Cusco and Lima. In Lima, our students participated in some service projects with the local community!
