Dual-Enrollment Opportunities

Landmark College Partnership

The dual enrollment course through Landmark College is an online course designed to introduce students to the world of college academics. The Introduction to Communications course offers students the ability to study the field of communications and to improve everyday practical social skills. Students learn about the interactions among people and explore how to create effective communication. Students are responsible for independently maintaining a system of assignment management and organization, discussing personal experiences in connection with course concepts, demonstrating active reading, showing a consistent approach to note-taking and studying, and engaging in presentations in an online setting. This course is structured like a traditional classroom course, but access to the professor is through online office hours and e-mail. Course assignments include chapter quizzes, unit tests, formal presentations, journals, and discussion threads. Students should expect textbook assignments and reading on a daily basis. Additionally, critical reading and study skills are required for this course in order to manage and comprehend the high volume of material covered in the semester.
