To say that Woodlynde has changed our lives is simplifying the most profound experience our child and family have ever gone through. Lucy is now the very best version of herself. Lucy is thriving.
Before we found Woodlynde, Lucy was the most stressed, anxious, and unhappy version of herself, something no 2nd grader should have to feel. She had stomach aches in the middle of the night; she hid in bed in the morning; she spent an hour or more on her homework; she was pulled out of her classes with her peers daily; she felt insecure and unable to learn. It started to bleed into every facet of her life, affecting her friendships, her hobbies, her creativity, her spirit, and her ultimately our whole family. We were desperate to help her.
On our very first visit to Woodlynde, my husband and I thought, "They built this school for Lucy." On her very first visit to Woodlynde, Lucy thought, "I found my friends. I found my teachers. This is my school." Within two weeks Lucy had switched schools and we saw immediate changes. Reading clicked, math clicked- my child who had been pulled out of every subject for extra help in public school was now excelling as she had always dreamed. She came home talking about friends she made at recess and who she sat with at lunch. She started drawing again. She started dreaming again.
Now in third grade, Lucy is one of the best students in her class, eager to participate and excited to get to school every day. She is happy, confident, and creative. To say that Woodlynde has changed our lives is simplifying the most profound experience our child and family have ever gone through. Lucy is now the very best version of herself. Lucy is thriving.
