For my fellow parents out there, all I can say is that if you know something isn’t right, you are probably right. Take action. Make a change. Early intervention is critical. Every year matters, and Woodlynde will make the difference. It did for my son, and I believe it will for your child, too.
As a mother of three children, I noticed there was something different about my baby boy. Things did not come naturally at age-appropriate times for him as did for other children (including my other two children). He received various ongoing, early intervention therapies from the time he was a baby, but it was obvious that he wasn’t progressing in preschool and wouldn’t be ready for kindergarten. He couldn’t remember or recognize his ABCs or count to 10 correctly. Despite our public school’s assurances that holding him back a year would help or that he just needed more time, I knew that wasn’t enough.

We went through all of the usual testing, increasingly worrying about what his future might now have in store. Then, we found Woodlynde.

For the first time, we were in a place where the school not only knew everything about a student like our son, but they also knew how to help him. From the moment he started, Woodlynde surrounded our son with amazing teachers, small classes, and innovative instruction, like the Wilson® Reading Program.

Every year, I have been able to see how they continue to build up his knowledge and strategies so that my amazing 4th grader is now reading at grade level and he loves to do math! He is safe, happy, and successful.

Woodlynde’s teachers must have a true calling to what they do. Their dedication to each and every student is life-changing. As for the classes, the small size means that they deeply know each student, and because there are leveled classes, they can provide each student with the perfect balance of challenge and flexibility. As for the school itself, I can’t emphasize enough the warmth and care of the Woodlynde culture – it is truly our son’s other home.

For my fellow parents out there, all I can say is that if you know something isn’t right, you are probably right. Take action. Make a change. Early intervention is critical. Every year matters, and Woodlynde will make the difference. It did for my son, and I believe it will for your child, too.
