Dysgraphia
Dysgraphia – from the Greek (dys “bad or disordered” and graphia “written by hand”), is the broad term for individuals with a neurodevelopmental disorder in writing, and may include both the physical acts of writing (less commonly used) and encoding (spelling), sentence and paragraph writing (more commonly used). Under IDEA (2004), this is a disability classification in Written Expression. Under the DSM-5, it is a Specific Learning Disorder with impairment in writing and includes the specifiers of encoding (spelling), mechanics (e.g., capitalization, punctuation), and/or clarity of written expression.
