Dyslexia
Dyslexia – from the Greek (dys “bad or disordered” and lexi “words”), is the broad term for individuals with a neurodevelopmental disorder in reading. While the term appeared in prior versions of the DSM (3rd edition), it is not often used in terms of current diagnoses, however remains in common parlance. Under IDEA (2004), this is a disability classification in Basic Reading Skills, Reading Fluency, or Reading Comprehension. Under the DSM-5, it is a Specific Learning Disorder with impairment in reading and includes the specifiers of word reading accuracy, reading rate or fluency, and/or reading comprehension
