Gross-Motor Development
Gross-Motor Development – refers to the growth and refinement of large muscle movements and coordination, typically involving the muscles of the arms, legs, torso, and feet. These skills are essential for various physical activities and overall physical health. Includes large muscle movements (e.g., running, jumping, climbing, throwing), balance and coordination, postural control, strength and endurance, and spatial awareness. Physical Therapists often intervene for deficits in gross-motor development.
