Sensory Processing Disorders
Sensory Processing Disorders – is a condition where individuals have trouble receiving, integrating, and responding to sensory information. It is not currently recognized as a standalone diagnosis, but is often seen in individuals with other diagnoses (e.g., ASD, AD/HD). This may include over-responsivity to sensory stimuli (e.g., bright sounds, loud noises, certain textures), under-responsivity to sensory stimuli (e.g., no obvious reaction to pain or temperatures), and/or engaging in sensory seeking behaviors (e.g., enjoy activities such as spinning, jumping, or touching).
