Leadership & Service
We are the Woodlynde Warriors and our students are warriors. By definition, a warrior is someone who engages in struggle or conflict, but perseveres to overcome challenges.
We encourage our students, colleagues and alumni to walk the PATH of the Warrior, to guide motivation, mindset, and action.
It is an embodiment of our values that stay with our students, in the classroom, and beyond.
Perseverance
Accountability
Trustworthiness
Humility
The PATH is an integral part of the Woodlynde culture and is present in almost everything we do.
By encouraging Warriors to walk the PATH and engage in a number of leadership roles and service opportunities, Woodlynde prepares students to engage and shape the world that awaits them.
National Honor Society
The National Honors Society is a national organization recognizing students who continually display and strive for scholarship, service, leadership, and character. At Woodlynde, NHS is open to current juniors and seniors who demonstrate the pillars of NHS and meet additional requirements.
Buddy Program
The Woodlynde Buddy Program is a cherished tradition designed to foster connections and build community across all grade levels. By pairing Lower Division students with Upper Division peers, the program encourages a sense of belonging and friendship. Buddies meet regularly for activities such as bowling, lawn games, crafts, and storytime.
Safety Patrol
Our safety patrol program empowers 5th grade students to take an active role in maintaining a safe and orderly environment at Woodlynde. Safety members assist with daily duties, including helping younger students, monitoring hallways and dining hall, and ensuring that school rules are followed.
Student Council
Upper Division students have the opportunity to represent their fellow classmates by running for student council. Composed of representatives from each grade, the student council works to plan events, promote school spirit, and address and advocate for student concerns. By participating in student council, students not only make a positive impact on Woodlynde but also gain valuable experience that prepares them for future leadership roles.
Athletic Leadership Council
The Woodlynde Athletic Leadership Council (WALC) strives to develop leadership skills in our student-athletes. WALC meets once a week to discuss leadership principles as they relate to athletics and helps to plan community events such as pep-rallies and school drives. All student-athletes in grades 9-12 are eligible to join. The Athletic Leadership Council fosters a sense of pride and camaraderie among athletes, enhancing the overall athletic experience and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture.
Service Learning Club
The Service Learning Club is dedicated to fostering a spirit of community and responsibility among students. Through this club, members participate in a variety of service projects that benefit local, national, and global communities. From organizing food drives and environmental clean-ups to volunteering at local shelters, the Service Learning Club provides hands-on opportunities for students to make a meaningful impact. The Service Learning Club not only enriches the lives of those we serve but also empowers students to become compassionate, proactive citizens dedicated to creating positive change.
