Student Spaces
The spaces in which we learn shape the bounds of our thinking and our creativity.
In recent years, Woodlynde School has made a dramatic investment in hands-on spaces where students are invited to explore everything from ceramics and cinematography to mindfulness and machine learning.

Outdoor Classroom
Woodlynde's Outdoor Classroom serves as an extension of traditional indoor learning spaces, offering students additional opportunity for hands-on and experiential learning. Equipped with work areas, picnic tables, pollinator and vegetable gardens, and a hand-painted mural, the Outdoor Classroom is used for everything from Outdoor Education to content area classes to Study Halls.
SPINO Media Room
The Spino Media Room is home to Woodlynde's journalism classes and electives. Outfitted with production equipment and a green screen, students create Woodlynde Weekly, Woodlynde first-ever weekly news segment. The Informer, Woodlynde's student-run newspaper, and The Aurora, Woodlynde's yearbook are also produced in house.
Ceramics Studio
Woodlynde's ceramics studio provides a vibrant, creative space where students can explore the art of pottery and sculpture, led by one of two Woodlynde art teachers. Equipped with pottery wheels, kilns, and a variety of materials, students learn throwing, hand-building, and glazing techniques.
Labyrinth
Woodlynde’s labyrinth offers a unique space for reflection, mindfulness, and emotional well-being. Walking the labyrinth provides students with a meditative experience, reducing stress and improving focus. It teaches us that although the path we’re walking may be full of twists and turns, there is a purpose to the journey. By integrating a labyrinth into the school landscape, students are encouraged to practice self-awareness and emotional regulation, fostering a supportive environment for social-emotional learning.
Schmader Student Commons
Woodlynde's Schmader Student Commons is one of the most transformative spaces on campus. Besides it's daily use as a lunchroom, The Commons regularly is used for community-wide events like BINGO, school dances, the Community Celebration and Auction, theatrical performances, and much more.
Pierson All-Purpose Room (APR)
Woodlynde's Pierson All-Purpose Room (APR) is a versatile space that hosts assemblies, athletic games and activities, concerts, and theatrical performances, serving as a central hub for various events and gatherings.
Mullen Fitness and Weight Room
The Mullen Family Fitness Center, equipped with both cardio and weight equipment, serves as the hub for strength and conditioning classes, helping students improve their fitness levels in a structured, supportive environment. In addition to athletic practices, students can meet with an athletic trainer in the fitness center to address any concerns or injuries, ensuring their safety and peak performance.
