  • Downingtown/Chester Springs Area Woodlynde Bus

    For an annual fee, parents may sign up their students for Woodlynde School's Downingtown/Chester Springs bus. Morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off take place at three convenient locations:
     
    Kerr Park - Downingtown - 6:55 am pick-up, 3:55 pm drop-off     
    Calvary Fellowship Church - 7:05 am pick-up, 3:45 pm drop-off     
    Montgomery School - 7:15 am pick-up, 3:35 pm drop-off
  • Harleysville/Lansdale Area Woodlynde Bus

    For an annual fee, parents may sign up their students for Woodlynde School’s Harleysville/Lansdale bus. Morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off take place at Fischer’s Park. Pick-up time is 7:05 a.m. and drop-off time is 3:30 p.m.
  • Public Transportation (Paoli/Thorndale Line)

    The Strafford Station for the Paoli/Thorndale Line SEPTA Train is conveniently located approximately half a mile from Woodlynde School. In inclement weather, a Woodlynde van will pick up students from the station at 7:45 a.m.
     
    Students riding the train must realize that they represent Woodlynde while going to and from the station, at the station, and on the train. A student taking the train must be especially careful crossing streets and be considerate of fellow students, other pedestrians, neighbors, and drivers on the way to and from the station. Students must cross Upper Gulph Road at the traffic light. Under no circumstances should students walk across the train tracks. All school rules apply at the train station.
  • Philadelphia Area Woodlynde Van*

    • For an annual fee, parents may sign up their students for Woodlynde School’s Philadelphia van. Morning pick-up and afternoon drop off take place at two convenient area locations
    • Carpenter Station- 6:50 am pick up, 4:00 pm drop off
    • Overbrook Station- 7:15 am pick up, 3:35 pm drop off

    *Van transportation is subject to space availability. Please contact the admissions office for more information.

Pennsylvania State law affirms that students whose school districts have a border within a 10-mile radius of Woodlynde School may receive free transportation to Woodlynde provided by those districts. These include:

*The Philadelphia School District buses students in grades 1 - 8. Students in grades 9 -12 are eligible to receive weekly SEPTA TransPasses, which can be used for SEPTA bus transportation or exchanged for a discount on SEPTA Regional Rail passes.

Parent Transportation and Carpools

Parents may drop off and pick up their students at the front entrance of the school. For those interested in participating in a parent carpool, please contact Admissions at 610.293.6624 for a list of and contact information for parents located within a 5- to 10-mile radius of your home.

  • Students being picked up by parents should promptly report to the main entrance at the front of the school for parent pick-up.
  • Students may not wait in the lobby at dismissal time.
  • Traffic is required to turn right out of the school driveway between 2:45 and 3:15 p.m.

Student Parking/Driving

Driving to Woodlynde School is considered a privilege. All students must park in a designated student area. Seniors may park on campus with the permission of the Dean of Students. Underclassmen may drive to school and park in the lot located below the Tredyffrin Library on Upper Gulph Road located several blocks from school. Failure to follow the rules associated with driving can result in the suspension of driving privileges. Reckless driving will result in the loss of a student's driving privileges. Students must register their cars on the Woodlynde website at the start of the school year. Parking permits will be distributed and must be displayed on vehicles. Students who park in the rear lot may not leave until all school buses have left.
Woodlynde School is a private, co-ed college prep day school located in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that serves intelligent, talented students with learning differences in grades K - 12. Woodlynde provides a comprehensive, evidence-based Kindergartenelementarymiddle and high school program in a challenging yet nurturing environment for students with average to above average cognitive abilities (IQ) who have language- or math-based learning differences (such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia or Dyscalculia), Executive Function Challenges, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or Auditory Processing Disorder. Even for those students without a diagnosed learning disability (LD), Woodlynde offers expert and caring teachers in small classroom settings that support academic success. Woodlynde School also offers a post-graduate (PG) program in partnership with Rosemont College as well as a regional Summer Camp for students who learn differently.
