The coronavirus has halted many people’s personal endeavors, but not everyone is hamstrung by the quarantine. Junior Duncan Connor has continued to work on a creative project he started in December.

Duncan has been writing a novel that he plans to publish online. While the title isn’t definitive, he has been calling it
Wanderers of Weradyd. It is a fantasy novel that draws inspiration from Lord of the Rings and western films.

While he didn’t want to give away too much, the basic premise is that a team is hired to deliver cargo and are attacked by a guild of bandits along the way.

Duncan has slowly but steadily been chipping away at the story. He usually tries to work on it for a least a small amount every day. Right now, it is currently sitting at 7 chapters out of a planned 10 chapters before he releases it online as a serial story. Serial stories are published incrementally over a length of time, so Duncan plans to continue to release more after initially posting it.

The quarantine hasn’t hindered his progress on the story. It is quite the contrary, in fact. Duncan feels like it is easier to focus on the story now more than ever.

Creating narratives is something Duncan really enjoys. Whether as a Dungeon Master in his
Dungeons and Dragons campaigns or as an author, Duncan likes creating detailed and complex worlds.

Duncan is happy with how the story is going so far.

“I am very excited to start publishing this story, and I work each day to be able to do that.”
